The table
Ready to order · Built in Wickford, Essex
A 180cm solid French oak dining table on black X-Frame legs. Every decision is already made — add it to your basket and we build it.
The Bercé keeps the live edge: the long sides of the top follow the natural contour of the board instead of being sawn straight, so no two are quite alike. At 180cm it’s our most popular length — six people comfortably, every day.
The top is solid French oak — two full slabs, joined edge to edge and finished as one 37mm surface. Nothing is veneered and nothing is hollow. It stands on black steel X-Frame legs.
Oak is a natural material: the grain, knots and colour of your top will be its own, not a copy of the photograph.
Why “The Bercé”? (say “bear-say”)
Every Timber Row table design is named after one of the great oak forests of France. Bercé, in the Sarthe, is an old forest of very large oaks, some over three hundred years old — a fitting name for a top that keeps the natural line of the tree along its edge. The name honours the tradition — it isn’t a claim about where your particular boards were felled.
