A coffee table is narrow enough to come out of a single slab, so the top has no centre join and the grain runs straight through it. 37mm thick, with the same solid oak on the edge as on the face.

Find the right coffee table for your sofa.

Our solid oak coffee tables are available from 90cm to 140cm long. As a useful starting point, choose a table around two-thirds the length of your sofa. For a typical three-seat sofa, 110–120cm works particularly well. Prices below are for the 60cm width; use the configurator to see the table drawn approximately to scale before ordering.

One continuous piece of oak

One slab. No centre join.

The proportions of a coffee table allow us to make the entire top from one suitably wide board of French oak. There is no centre joint interrupting the grain — the figuring runs continuously from one side of the table to the other.

The top is approximately 37mm thick and solid timber throughout. There is no MDF core, veneer or built-up edge: what you see on the surface continues through the full thickness of the table.

Every board is naturally different, making each finished table genuinely individual.

Pair your oak top with one of eighteen bases, from understated black steel and classic X-frames to sculptural designs and solid oak legs. Every base is made specifically for coffee-table height, and selected designs can be colour matched across your Timber Row dining furniture. The Virelli square plinth is made only for this range.

A single square steel pedestal supports the oak from the centre, leaving the corners completely open and giving the tabletop the appearance of floating above its base.

What people ask.

Are Timber Row coffee tables solid oak?

Yes. The tabletop is solid French oak throughout, approximately 37mm thick. There is no MDF, chipboard or veneer beneath the surface.

Is the tabletop made from one piece of oak?

Yes. Unlike our wider dining-table tops, our coffee tables can be produced from one suitably wide oak board. This means the grain runs continuously across the tabletop with no centre join.

What size coffee table should I choose?

As a useful starting point, choose a table around two-thirds the length of your sofa. A standard three-seater is about 200cm, so 110cm to 130cm suits most living rooms. The configurator draws your chosen size to scale, with a mug, a tray and a couple of books on it, so you can judge it properly.

What is the difference between a live edge and a straight edge?

A straight edge is cut cleanly and consistently along the length of the table. A live edge follows the natural profile of the tree, preserving more of the character and variation of the original board. Both options cost the same. On a live-edge top the width you choose is nominal — the natural edge varies by up to about 4cm along the length.

Can I choose the colour of the oak?

Yes. Our coffee tables are available in the same five hardwax-oil finishes as our dining tables, so pieces can be ordered to match. Each finish protects the oak while leaving the grain and texture visible.

We provide free delivery throughout mainland England, Scotland and Wales, including Essex, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and destinations throughout the Midlands, North West, North East and South West.
