Kent is one short hop over the Dartford Crossing from the workshop — Maidstone is about forty-five miles from Wickford, and the whole county is covered free: BR, CT, DA, ME and TN. Our own two-person team carries it to the room you want it in and takes the packaging away, about four to five weeks after you order.

Across the river

Kent and Essex face each other across the Thames estuary, and the Dartford Crossing is the only fixed road link east of London. That single fact shapes every Kent delivery we make: north Kent addresses in DA and ME are often quicker to reach from Wickford than places half the distance away in west London, while a run down to Folkestone or Dover is a straight motorway drive once the crossing is behind us.

It also means we plan Kent runs around the crossing rather than around mileage. Deliveries into Dartford, Gravesend and the Medway towns tend to be booked for early slots to clear the crossing before it backs up; Canterbury, Thanet and the Romney Marsh villages are usually mid-morning arrivals. When the team calls the day before to agree your four-hour window, that is what they are working around.

The price is identical wherever you are in the county. A delivery to Sheerness costs exactly what a delivery to Sevenoaks costs, which is nothing.

What suits a Kent dining room

Four counties' worth of housing in one.

Kent has an unusually wide spread of housing for a single county, and the right table changes sharply between them. In the Weald — Tenterden, Cranbrook, Goudhurst, the weatherboarded and tile-hung cottages and the oast conversions — ceilings are low, doorways are original and rooms are rarely square. A 160cm or 180cm at 90cm wide almost always sits better than the 200cm people arrive intending to buy, and it leaves room to get past a chair when the room narrows at one end.

Georgian Canterbury and the older parts of Rochester run the other way: deep, tall, narrow rooms where length is available but width is not. The 200cm × 90cm is the configuration we send into those addresses most. Around Ashford, Ebbsfleet and the newer Maidstone estates, where kitchens open into wide rear extensions with bi-folds, 240cm × 100cm is the common pick and anything under 200cm tends to look lost.

The seaside terraces of Whitstable, Deal and Broadstairs are their own case again — small footprints, often a through-room. The 140cm and 160cm exist for exactly these rooms, and the configurator will draw either to scale before you commit.

Getting it in

Low beams, narrow lanes, listed doorways.

The tabletop and the base travel separately and are assembled in the room. On a 37mm slab that matters more in Kent than in most counties, because a good deal of the county's housing predates the idea of getting furniture into it.

Measure the door head, not just the width

In Wealden cottages and oast conversions the limiting dimension is usually height, not width — original door heads sit low and a tabletop carried on edge needs the clearance. Tell us the tightest opening and we will confirm before we build.

Tell us about the lane

Single-track lanes with passing places are common through the Weald and around the Marsh. It decides what vehicle we send and where it stops, and it is much better known in advance than discovered on the day.

Seafront parking

Whitstable, Deal and the Broadstairs old town have narrow alleys and restricted seafront loading. If your street needs a permit or has a loading window, let us know when we call to book the slot.
